On Monday, the preps visited Edendale Farm in Eltham. Here we were engaged in a variety of activities to build on our understanding of sustainability.
‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’ was the catch-phrase of the day, with the preps learning to ‘Save the Planet’ through responsible management of resources. Did you know that scrunching plastic material is a good way to check if it can be recycled?
We learnt about worms as ‘the great recyclers’. They tickled in our hands and we even got to see some worm eggs. Did you know that a worm has five hearts?
We loved chasing the goats and feeding the chickens!
We walked along the Diamond Creek and were sad to see the amount of rubbish polluting this bush land. How can we stop this from happening?
After Edendale, we had an energetic play on the fabulous playground at Eltham North.
We returned to school very hot and exhausted!
