Junior Chef – Chocolate Brownies

Hi, I’m David and I am going to be your “Junior Chef” for this week. I am making the most Scrumdiddlyumptious Double Choc Brownies.

You will need……

EQUIPMENT:

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups
  • 1 deep square greased baking pan (mine is a 20cm x 20cm) – lined with baking paper (make sure it hangs over the edge so you can lift them out when cooked and cooled) 

Tip:  I usually double the ingredients to make them a higher brownie, just remember to increase the cooking time

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 extra large eggs (800g)
  • 1 cup castor sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee powder
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1/2  cup of white chocolate bits (I used Cadbury ones)

 

HOW TO MAKE:

(reminder wash your hands first!) 

  1. Preheat oven at 180 degrees
  2. Sift all dry ingredients  into your mixing bowl
  3. Add your chocolate bits and give it a little stir 
  4. Add eggs, vanilla, and oil
  5. Give it a thorough mix, about 60 strokes with your wooden spoon
  6. Pour into your prepared pan
  7. Bake for about 30 minutes or until it starts to come away from the pan
  8. Cool completely in the pan before lifting it out
  9. Cut into equal portions and dust with icing sugar for that professional hit!
  10. Devour……on their own or with some ice-cream or cream.  YUM!!
