1/2KC MAT Program

The motto for the MAT Program is:-

Be Strong     Be Calm     Be Kind     Keep trying!

During the program, Guy and Elena teach us that all feelings are okay, we just need to know how to control them!

We are learning to be emotionally resilient.

We are learning to control our emotions!

This short video clip shows the children taking part in one of their favourite games called “On Patrol”! The students need to pose with the appropriate action for the command being called, e.g. defend, samurai and “Protect the Princess”!  The last student left is the overall winner!

Natural Resources

During this week the preps have been learning about natural resources. We broke into groups and made a 3D display to put on our wall. We have learnt that a natural resource is something that the Earth creates and we can use these resources to help us live.  Here is a photo of our display wall.

Victorian Badminton Championships

First timers do us proud

For the first time, we were able to enter a team in the Victorian Primary School Badminton Championships. We hopped on the bus at 7:15 am so we could be in Altona for the start of the games. We were represented by Sienna, Fabian, Michael, Alyssa and Sebastian. They played doubles in different combinations. We played against the best players in the state. We certainly improved over the day and were even able to notch up a victory against a very good team. We finally got home at 4:30 pm – a long, but rewarding day.

Fire Carriers

Hi, my names Lucas and I am one of the Fire Carriers at St Charles Borromeo. Today I want to share with you some more information about the indigenous culture.

The Aboriginal culture is the oldest living culture in the world. It goes back about 60,000 years.  Some of the reasons why the aboriginal culture has survived for so long is that they have the ability to adapt and change over time.

Greatest Invention

Hello, my name is YAJAT and in my opinion, the greatest invention ever has got to be the COMPUTER.

Life has changed so much since computers have been introduced to human life. Computers have helped humans make their lives easier. They have become indispensable in many workplaces.

Computers have multitasking features that can minimize work. They can display and let you manipulate stored information, and they are used in almost all fields for any purpose.

Computers are the greatest invention of all time because they have become the most powerful tool ever created. They are tools of entertainment, tools of communication, and tools of education that can save you money, time and materials.

Junior Scientist

What it looks like when you pour in the food dye.

Hi everyone! My name is Elena and I am this week’s Junior Scientist. For my experiment, I am going to show you how to make your very own shaving cream rain cloud. Make sure that if you try this experiment at home you are wearing some old clothes or an apron so you don’t get dirty as this activity involves food dye.

You will need…

  • Shaving Cream / Shaving Foam (not gel)
  • Jar half full with water
  • Food Dye
  • Gloves and tray (optional)

  1. Spray shaving foam on top of the water in the jar.
  2. Pour food dye on top and watch it come down like rain at the bottom of the jar.
