Passion Project

Hi everyone, this week I am here to talk to you about my passion for athletics. Athletics is a great thing to do and I love it because not only do I compete against other girls in my age group I get to try and beat my score from previous weeks.

I belong to the athletics district of DLAC along with other students at the school. I have been doing athletics for 3 years and I have made a large improvement from when I started.

Here are some photos from athletics one is of me showing my 1st place medal for long jump and the other is of me competing in a hurdles race.

Book Of The Week!

Hi Everyone This week I was chosen to pick the Book Of The Week. I have chosen one of my favourite books, Wonder By R.J Palacio. I love this book because it has so many lessons in this book. The book Wonder is about an 11yr old boy named August. August has some challenges with fitting in at his new school. August is faced with many challenges along the way he is faced with bullies, friendship issues and health issues as well. overall I love this book I would give it a 4.5-star rating. I would recommend anybody aged 10+ to read this book!

Heart Kids Foundation

Dear families of St Charles,

In 5/6I we do a program called Genius Hour. For our Genius Hour passion project, we have decided to focus on ‘Heart Kids’ which is a charity that supports kids with heart problems. As a part of our project we are asking all classes to support the heart kid by donating 50 cents. Each class will have a box which you can put your donation in.

The class that raises the most donations will get  20 minutes of extra recess time.

Thanks from Portia and Aaliyah
