To all students at St Charles, I am starting a new blog series called, “What can we do?” This is all about things that we can do to make the world a better place, but with a twist.
For my InquiRe unit, we are learning about being “stewards of the Earth” and sustainability. The definition of sustainability is: The ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level. The definition of stewards is: The job of supervising or taking care of something.
Once a week I will post something we can do to make the world a better place. It may go from as little as picking up one piece of rubbish every time we go out to play to planting your own garden. Things like this will help make the world last longer. The twist is if I see you doing something helpful to the environment you get a raffle ticket and at the end of this year you will go in the draw to win something.
I hope you can all act on this huge issue to help the world last longer because remember it all started with US.

Hi, my name is Keira. The book that I have chosen for, “Book of the Week” is Welcome To Wonderland Home Sweet Motel
I chose this book because you go on an adventure with P.T and Gloria to save the Wonderland Motel. The book uses lots of descriptive words. I would highly suggest this to all ages and if you enjoy a bit of surprise then read this book. There is a sequel that came out in May 2017 in America which means that it may or may not be out in Australia yet. Judging the first book, I think the sequel will be really good too.
How are we all enjoying Book week! In 5/6M we are doing some art projects. First we did a project on the book Mechanica. Today we read Gary and we did a birds eye view of what it would be like to fly. Here are some pictures of our work.
The year 6s from St Charles and St Kevin’s were “confirmed” into the Church on Sunday. I was in the choir for the 2 pm mass and we sang lots of songs. The year 6s from both schools read at Mass. They all did very well in projecting their voice. Well done to all of the year 6s who made their Confirmation.
Comment what your favorite part about confirmation was.
Hi, my name is Keira and I’m doing the final report from camp. I had a great time. My favourite part was when I jumped off the Leap of Faith 12m high. I also liked pulling the string that releases you on the Giant Swing.
Now we have one more game to play and lunch. Then we all jump on the bus and head back home.
See you all later today!
Hi my name is Keira and I am this week’s junior chef.
I made S’mores Cupcakes from the “American Girl Cookbook”. Here is how you make it:
🏀 At the end of term 1, we played softball for interschool sports and we had fun! Our team is Mr Puls, Keira, Gisele, Lucas F, Lucas M, Oscar, Anthony, George, Ethan and David. David was sadly away today.
We thank all the parent helpers that came and helped.
