Today I am sharing a slide I made for “Genius Hour”. It is about Aboriginal artists and paintings.
I hope you enjoy and learn something.
Hi, my name is Olivia and I am a FIRE Carrier. Today I am going to share with you some pictures of Aboriginal weapons. They are from a book by Edward John Eyre (An early European explorer of Australia). In this book, he shares what he saw and learnt about the Aborigines during his explorations.
Here is a link to his book.

Hi, my name is Olivia. I am a “Fire Carrier”. My job is to teach the school about indigenous culture and to spread the word of RECONCILIATION.
Today I am going to share with you an Indigenous game called Goomboobooddoo.
Goomboobooddoo is a traditional wrestling game. Players cover their bodies in grease to make them slippery. Families compete against each other and the family who throws the most people win.
Well here is a recipe for the most delicious Choc Chip cookies EVER!
Recently the 5/6’s went on an excursion to the Old Treasury Building and the Parliament House!
We learnt about the history of Australia and the culture of our people. It was the greatest adventure we have had yet!
Parliament house was really fascinating. One thing that I noticed is that there was a lot of gold throughout the building. At the time they built the parliament house it was THE GOLD RUSH in Victoria.
