Posting Guidelines

If you would like to contribute to our school’s blog the following guidelines must be adhered to: 

Students

  • Posts and comments to the school’s blog will be screened first by the school and will not appear on the blog immediately
  • All posts and comments must be polite, respectful and courteous
  • Contributions to the blog need to comply with copyright laws and the privacy act
  • Student surnames shall not be published on the blog
  • Personal information about users such as addresses, phone numbers, date of birth and other personal information are not to be published on the blog
  • Only students who have parent consent and have signed an Acceptable Use Agreement will be allowed to post on the blog

Parents and others

  • Comments to the blog will be screened first by the school and will not appear on the blog immediately. 
  • All posts and comments must be polite, respectful and courteous
  • Contributions to the blog need to comply with copyright laws and the privacy act
  • Student surnames are not to be published on the blog
  • Personal information about users such as addresses, phone numbers, date of birth and other personal information is not to be published on the blog
  • Parent/carers are to use only their first name so that their child’s surname cannot be identified

Staff

  • Each level will contribute a post weekly and this responsibility will be shared fairly by the members of that team
  • Specialists and leaders will contribute a post on a fortnightly basis
  • All posts and comments must be polite, respectful and courteous
  • Contributions to the blog need to comply with copyright laws and the privacy act
  • Posts need to be inclusive of a student audience. Posts orientated primarily at parents (e.g. parenting advice) will be better suited for the school newsletter
  • Posts need to be succinct (approximately 120 words or less)
  • Posts need to include preferably one (maximum 3) images/video/powerpoints
  • All posts will need to be appropriately assigned a category and tagged
  • Posts will need to comply with best practice in cyber safety.
  • Student surnames shall not be published on the blog

  • Parent/carers are to use only their first name so that their child’s surname cannot be identified
  • Only students who have parent consent and have signed an Acceptable Use Agreement will be allowed to post on the blog
  • Parent/carer’s consent is required if an image (where a child is identifiable) is used on the blog
  • Parent/carer’s consent is required if student work is published on the blog
