Last week we were very fortunate to have a visit from Nicky, the aunt of Macy and Gemma. She plays footy for the Bulldogs and her nieces were very excited to have her visit their classes. She also helped us with training at lunchtime for our girls footy team. They play against other schools on the 4th of May. Nicky gave us some signed posters and footy cards. Lots of the students were inspired by Nicky and really appreciated the effort she made to come to our school and spend time with us.
I have just been sent the results of the summer interschool sport and I am delighted to tell you that the boys rounders team has made the grand final. We do have to play a mini round robin against Doncaster Gardens Blue and Templestowe Valley to progress. Please wish them the best of luck in their games. The anticipated date is Thursday the 14th of April although this is not confirmed with all the other teams yet. As soon as I find out, I will let you know

There was sunshine, then rain, then heavier rain, sunshine and finally goats. Yes! Yesterday’s Cross Country Trials at St Charles definitely had it all.
The weather held for us to complete all of the 9/10 and 11 year old trials. 12+ yo trials will be conducted either Friday 8/5 or Tuesday 12/5 (weather permitting).
The 11 year old race was held up briefly when 2 goats got excited seeing the children run past. They squeezed through under the fence and begin running in the race.
Here are the trial placings (link).
District Cross Country is on 21 May 2015 @ Ruffey Lake Park
The 1/2s and the 3/4s enjoyed running on the oval last week. The Preps ran in the hall. I was very impressed by the effort shown by all students. After running his 50 metre sprint, Michael B. asked if he could run around the oval. He did 4 laps! Definitely a future cross country star for St. Charles.
We also began having a look at AFL football ball skills and setting personal goals. It was great seeing the 5/6s on the oval focused and assisting each other on different skills.
