RSPCA Christmas Drive!

Dear Families,

With Christmas just around the corner, we have decided to do a Christmas drive for the unfortunate animals at the RSPCA. The RSPCA relies on donations to keep the business running. They use donations for bedding for animals and for something to play.

The donations we are accepting are; Old pet toys, old blankets, newspapers, old towels and face washers. Remember, anything containing feathers will not be accepted.

Could we please have all donations to school by the 5th of December (Week 10)

Each class will have a labelled cardboard box where all donations will be kept.

This drive will begin of Monday 21st of November.

Thank you for making this possible you are truly making a difference in an animal’s life.

Cupcake day for the RSPCA!

On Monday the 15th of August, it was cupcake day for the RSPCA. I love the RSPCA and I wanted to help them raise money to fight animal cruelty. The RSPCA was also my genius hour project so I thought this would be an awesome thing to tie into my presentation.  I decided to make and sell some cupcakes to the 5/6’s and teachers. In total we raised $120.15! Thank you to everyone who bought a cupcake to help this amazing cause! Here are some photos of the cupcakes and my presentation:

Thank you Dr. Sarah!

Yesterday in 5/6I we had a very special guest come in for Isla and I’s genius hour presentation on Vets! Dr. Sarah came in and talked to the class about what it’s like being a Vet and why she became a Vet. She showed us some photos and X-rays of animals who have been patients at Vets on Parker. Here are some photos of our presentation with Dr. Sarah:

You guys did amazing and played so well.  Also a big thank you to Daniel K (5/6I), Kayden (5/6C), Zac (5/6H), Jake (5/6I), Miss Hahn and Mr Puls for supporting the girls the whole day! Without you guys we wouldn’t have been able to do it. Here are some student reflections from some girls who played footy yesterday:

Isla –  I really enjoyed interacting with girls from other schools and I definitely want to do it again next year!

Imogen – I loved the opportunity we had to compete with other schools and It was really fun and we all had a great day.
